Giving to Friends House Retirement CommunityThe mission of Friends House Retirement Community is to serve low to moderate income residents. Providing independent housing options through the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program allows residents to live in a low cost government subsidized apartment. Many residents, in the later years after having medical issues and incurring expenses related to the death of a spouse or other financial changes, need assistance with basic living costs. The Friends House Resident Assistance fund makes rent subsidies and other medical and special needs assistance available to those in need. In order to assure residents can remain living at Friends House and receive services and amenities they need, Friends House budgets approximately $75,000 per year for charitable services. Most of this amount goes to assist with rent expenses. Gifts to Friends House Resident Assistance fund go directly to support our mission. You may give gifts of cash to Friends House by check or through our monthly payment plan. For gifts of cash, you are entitled to an income tax deduction up to 50% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) with a five-year carry-over for any excess. A donor may arrange with Friends House and their bank or credit union to have a monthly contribution sent electronically to Friends House.
