An outright gift of cash

You may give gifts of cash to Friends House by check or through our monthly payment plan. For gifts of cash, you are entitled to an income tax deduction up to 50% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) with a five-year carry-over for any excess.

A donor may arrange with Friends House and their bank or credit union to have a monthly contribution sent electronically to Friends House.

Many residents of the Friends House Retirement Community have indicated that they would be able to make a larger contribution to the Residents Assistance Fund if they could make monthly payments.

  1. The Friends House Business office will add your pledge amount to your monthly rent bill and you can include your contribution with your monthly payment to Friends House.
  2. In January of each year, you will receive a thank you letter and a receipt of the amount that you contributed during the prior year. Your charitable contribution is tax deductible on your income tax returns.
