Caring at Friends House Retirement Community

Friends House Retirement Community is a licensed provider for assisted living and nursing care services. Activities, housekeeping, laundry, social services, dietary and maintenance staff work either within the assisted living and nursing centers or work closely with the nursing staff to meet the varied needs of the residents. Friends House provides a clean and well-maintained community that creates a welcoming and pleasant environment for residents and their families. Friends House is known for its personalized care and is recognized by the families served as being an organization they would recommend to others.

Nursing Care

Friends House Nursing Home is an 82-bed, private and semi-private, skilled nursing center, which is Medicare and Medicaid certified. The newest section of the Nursing center is Thomas Hall which is the special Alzheimer’s/dementia unit. Thomas Hall is a secure unit and consists of 28 private and semi-private rooms that have access to a center courtyard.

Both the Nursing Home and Assisted Living areas provide personal service that emphasizes dignity, well-being, and encouragement of individual independence.

Features in both areas include a solarium sunroom, a dining room, activity spaces and a shared beauty shop.

Resident care planning meetings are held quarterly for all residents with the interdisciplinary team which includes the Director of Nursing, Dietitian, Social worker, Activities Director, Administration and Nursing staff. Families and resident attend and participate in the meetings as desired.

Family and friends are always welcome at Friends House Retirement Community. Residents need the support of their family, as well as the personal care provided by the staff, to help maintain physical and mental health. Overnight accommodations are offered for guests of residents on campus in the Friends House Guest Apartment. Arrangements should be scheduled through the Friends House Administrative office.
