Accommodations

    Friends House offers two floor plans in its unfurnished apartments: studio and one-bedroom apartments are available.  Each apartment has an electric kitchen, an individually controlled thermostat, bathroom grab-bars, ample closet space, a patio garden and an individual outside entrance.  Additional storage space is provided within the building.  Carpeted central corridors connect all apartments and services under one roof and on one floor.

    Social life is encouraged through diverse and well-planned community activities.  Meeting areas are available for the Residents' Association to plan and carry out social, recreational and community activities.   The community center includes a 100 seat dining area.  The library is adjacent to a comfortable lounge with its own fireplace.  Craft areas are provided for activities such as art, sewing, woodworking, etc.

• Exercise opportunities include paved walking areas, wooded paths, and enclosed, carpeted corridors.  Exercise classes are available.
• Gardening opportunities include patio gardens, a greenhouse, a cut-flower garden, a Friends House community garden and individual vegetable garden spaces.
• Volunteer opportunities include many jobs performed by residents in Friends House and Friends Nursing Home.  There are local and national organizations that appreciate the volunteer efforts of Friends House residents.
